It’s a very good, excellent day when I get a rental car (had to drive up to Santa Rosa for the marathon) because I get to shop at Trader Joe’s!
- Cereal
- Soy milk
- Frozen breaded chicken breasts
- Eggs
- Cherry tomatoes
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Bananas
- Figs
- Peaches
You’d think that after a marathon, I’d be in the mood for eating garbage. Put me near a Trader Joe’s, however, and I’m all about that fresh produce.
So for meals, I’m trying to keep lean and clean. I haven’t worked out much since my ankle sprain, so I gotta watch the calories.
- Breakfast: cereal with soy milk and chia seeds
- Snack: banana with peanut butter
- Lunch: rice, eggs, spinach with garlic, a piece of fried chicken
- Snack: tomatoes, figs
- Snack: berries
- Dinner: green peas, veggie burger patties
Fitness update: I’m flippin’ disappointed in the outcome of the race. I also didn’t know that it’d be seven miles of uphill to get to the end, but I blame my inability to take that on on insufficient training and my bad knee. I’ll be back to light cross training for the next few days before hitting the pavement again.
Life update: my latest hobby of sprucing up my room gives me great pleasure and satisfaction. So amid all this disappointment in my running performance, at least I have that.
